Shaheed Jussab - Barrister - Litigation
Shaheed was called to the Bar in 2011. He enjoys a broad civil and commercial practice covering Immigration (personal and business); Commercial and Chancery. He has represented clients at County Courts and the Business and Property Courts as well as at Employment Tribunals; the Immigration & Asylum, Tax, and Property Chambers of the First-tier Tribunal; and the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the Upper Tribunal. Shaheed is a keen advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and has represented clients at without prejudice negotiations, mediations and arbitrations.
Shaheed is authorised by the Bar Standards Board to conduct litigation.
Recent instructions include:
- Successfully challenging a civil penalty notice issued against a corporate client for allegedly employing illegal immigrants.
- Acting for a mortgagor in defending possession proceedings on grounds that included mortgage mis-selling.
- Acting for a beneficiary under a will in proceedings challenging the validity of the will.
- Representing a commercial landlord in a contested claim for unlawful eviction and harassment.
- Representing a Gambian corporate client in its claim against a freight forwarder for losses suffered as a result of goods being shipped to the wrong destination.
- Representing a company director in 7 separate claims totalling over £1M to enforce personal guarantees and indemnities following the company’s default of finance agreements.
- Defending a money claim for alleged unpaid invoices on grounds which included invalid assignment of the benefit of contracts of service to the Claimant.
