2020 was a tough year for many people and businesses.
One of the consequences of COVID-19 was that most law firms were forced to create the conditions to enable staff to work remotely. At Parity Legal we were more fortunate than others in that we were set up in the Summer of 2019 with exactly that model in mind. We were built that way before COVID-19 changed the landscape. Although the pandemic has certainly presented us with challenges, on the whole we were well equipped to overcome them.
As we move into 2021 and hopefully edge towards a return to near-normality, it will be interesting to see how many of the new work practices that people have become accustomed to actually stick. What we have seen in the legal sector is that some market leaders have (sadly for those affected) announced redundancies not because they have suffered downturns but because they have stumbled upon more efficient ways to do things. We may also find that many lawyers have grown to enjoy and value the flexibility that working remotely can bring.
At Parity Legal we have a Consultancy Programme that provides a framework for Consultants to manage their work life balance in a way that suits them. It also rewards them with retention of up to 80% of their billing. Our Consultants can also earn by referring clients to their Parity colleagues, which helps with lead generation across the team, and we work with third parties to generate opportunities.
Our way of working may not suit everyone – there are lawyers out there who yearn for a return to the office environment and the traditional way of doing business – but we believe that a significant proportion will find our way of doing things attractive.
If you are looking to become a Consultant Solicitor or would like to learn more about our Consultancy Programme, contact us for a no obligation and confidential discussion.
Above all, please stay safe and well.
